We recently collaborated with actress and comedian Anjelah Johnson to produce photographs for her new website. Anjelah is an extremly talented individual and it’s a pleasure to call her a friend. These are the grounds of the soon to be 2011 FADER FORT by FIAT. The compound, located in downtown Austin, will be right in the mix with all of the other SXSW (South by Southwest) festivities. Construction begins this week.

This year I am teaming up with the good people at FADER Magazine to help photo document all of the happenings at the FORT. We will also be filming a new project that week. I recently had the opportunity to photo document former NFL cheerleader turned actress and comedian Anjelah Johnson’s tour experience in San Antonio. Anjelah originally had 4 sold out shows at the LOL Comedy Club over the course of two days. A third show was later added and also sold out. In addition to her comedy, Anjelah is a former MADtv cast member and has acted in the movies Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakquel and Our Family Wedding.

We all love seeing amazing photographs of our favorite performers either on stage or posing for CD covers and magazines but have you ever taken a moment to think of the person on the other side of the lens? Music and visual media go hand in hand and whether it’s an abstract interpretation of a song or a carefully staged music video, you rarely have one without the other.

Texas based professional photographer OG has always been interested in music and visual art. “As a kid, I would admire and study things like movies, billboards, magazines and album artwork. That discipline of dissecting and interpreting those visuals I’m certain is where the interest for producing photography arose. Growing up, my mother supported that interest by encouraging me to develop my skill set as much as possible.”
