David Banner Billboard & PDN Magazine Ultimate Photo Contest Winning Image
We’ve been real busy around here lately and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to slow down anytime soon, we like it that way. That being said, I wanted to take this time to thank everyone who provided coverage on our Billboard & PDN Magazine photo contest award. We definitely appreciate it.
I’m pleased to announce that I was recently named one of the winners of the 2008 Billboard Magazine and PDN (Photo District News) Summer Music Moment – Ultimate Music Photography Contest. The judges selected the David Banner photo featured above as one of the winning image selected out of over 2,000 submissions.
The captured moment took place at the 2008 SXSW Music Festival in Austin and is currently featured in the December issue of PDN magazine and will also be in a gallery on the Billboard and PDN sites later this month.
Being named one of the Billboard and PDN photo contest winners is a blessing. My team and I work very hard for all of the content we produce, so having our work showcased and recognized is something I am grateful for.
I had the opportunity earlier this week to document the David Banner concert at the Austin Music Hall. If you haven’t witnessed a David Banner show, and consider yourself a hip-hop/music fan , you really need to. The concert was put together by Austin’s own Rozone Productions. Other acts on the lineup included Bun B, Z-Ro, Austin’s own the C.O.D. and a couple other local artists.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to photo document the third annual Beat Bash put on by the good folks at 98.5 The Beat in San Antonio. The big event took place at the AT&T Center. Performers for the evening included David Banner, Pitbull, Keri Hilson, Lloyd, Paul Wall and a number of others. Cindy Hill and her entire team did a superb job yet again.
The photograph above shows David Banner performing on stage, but those who have witnessed a show of his, know that he is usually on stage only about half the time. His performance/crowd interaction is definitely one of a kind, and this time wasn’t any different. He was all over the AT&T Center making sure all of his supporters were involved and enjoying the show. Working with David Banner is always a pleasure. His album, “The Greatest Story Ever Told” is out now.
All of the Beat Bash photographs can be viewed here…
My latest published photo comes courtesy of The Source Magazine. The image features David Banner and appears in the June issue (pg. 17) of The Source with N.E.R.D on the cover. There is also an alternate version of the magazine that features Gnarls Barkley on the cover. The featured interview was done with Matt Sonzala and conducted by Soren Baker, executive editor of The Source, on the topic of SXSW.
